MailGoldOnline is the mail-in side of We Buy Gold, a precious metals storefront based in Montgomery, Illinois. That's a real, physical operation you can visit in person, not a website with no location behind it. We built the mail-in service so people anywhere in the country could get the same evaluation and the same offer as someone who walks through our door.
Every item that comes in, whether it's mailed to us or handed across the counter, goes through the same process: individually tested and weighed by our precious metals team, never eyeballed or estimated. That standard doesn't change whether it's one ring or a shipment from across the country. It's the same evaluation process behind every offer we send and every guide we publish.
We buy real, solid gold, from 6 karat up through pure 24K, in any condition: broken, tangled, tarnished, or missing its match. We don't buy gold-plated, gold-filled, or vermeil pieces, and we'll tell you plainly if that's what you're holding instead of pretending otherwise. Being upfront about what we don't buy is part of being honest about what we do.
Selling gold in person, especially at a pawn shop, usually means an on-the-spot offer with someone standing across the counter waiting for an answer. That pressure is one of the main reasons people hold on to gold they've already decided to sell. Mail-in removes the counter pressure: no negotiation and no one standing across from you while you decide.
We're not a pawn shop that buys gold alongside electronics and power tools. We Buy Gold and MailGoldOnline exist as a specialized precious metals buyer, the kind of dedicated gold buyer people look for specifically when they want an accurate, unhurried evaluation instead of a fast counter offer. That specialization is why the process looks different: a free kit, prepaid protected shipping both ways, and a clear, itemized offer you can accept, decline, or take time to think over, with everything shipped back free if you decide not to sell.
Local? Come see the facility yourself, Monday through Saturday 10am to 7pm, Sunday 10am to 6pm. Not local? Everything above still applies, just by mail instead of in person.
