When you're helping someone you love sell their gold, you carry two worries at once: making sure they're treated fairly, and being able to explain the result to them and to the rest of the family. Here's how we take care of both:
- Everyone can see. Every piece is tested and weighed on the counter where you and your relative can both see it.
- Clear numbers you can share. Your offer lists the grams and dollar value for every karat, so you can explain exactly how the total was reached.
- No rushing. If the owner wants to keep a few pieces, set them aside. Nothing is sold until a decision is made on each item.
- Plain explanations. We'll explain what each piece is and why it's valued the way it is, in terms anyone can follow.
We always prefer the owner of the gold to come in with you. If that isn't possible for any reason, just let us know ahead of time, and we'll help you figure out the next step.
Before you come in
- Bring the pieces as they are. No sorting or cleaning needed.
- Ask what matters. Before the visit, ask your relative which pieces they'd like to keep, so those can stay home or be set aside.
- Separate by person if needed. If you're helping more than one relative, keep each person's gold in its own bag.
- Call ahead for a larger collection. We'll reserve time so nobody feels hurried.
