Douglas Rd goes right to our door
Here's the part Oswego customers like most: the road you probably already use runs directly to us.
- From Route 34 and the east side (the shopping centers near Douglas Rd and Route 34, and the neighborhoods around Oswego East): turn north onto Douglas Rd and stay on it. It crosses US-30, and we're at the next major corner, Douglas Ave and Montgomery Rd.
- From downtown Oswego (Main St and Washington St): head north on Main St, which becomes IL-25 as it leaves town, then turn right onto Montgomery Rd. Or cut over to Douglas Rd and follow it north. Either way it's about 4 miles.
- From Boulder Hill: you're closer than almost anyone. Briarcliff Rd or Boulder Hill Pass to US-30, then one turn onto Douglas and you're here.
- From the west side and Orchard Rd: take Orchard Rd north to Montgomery, cross the Fox River on US-30 East, and turn left onto Douglas Rd.
We're in the plaza on the corner, with free parking in front of the door.
Bring the whole drawer. Small pieces add up.
Most Oswego households have gold scattered in more than one place: a broken chain in the nightstand, a bracelet with a bad clasp in the jewelry box, a pendant that was replaced, a few rings nobody wears, a coin from a grandparent. Individually, none of them feels worth a trip. Together, they usually are. That's because we price gold by weight within each karat, so ten small 14K pieces are weighed as one lot, and every gram in that lot counts toward the same total.
How to make the most of a ten-minute trip:
- Gather from every spot, not just the jewelry box. Coat pockets, old purses, the junk drawer, the glove box and the back of the safe turn up more gold than people expect.
- Include the pieces that are broken, bent or missing a mate. A snapped chain, a ring with a lost stone or a bracelet with a dead clasp weighs exactly what it did when it was whole.
- Include anything you're not sure about. Testing is free and takes seconds per piece. If something isn't real gold, we'll show you how we can tell.
- Don't wait until you've "found it all." You're close enough to come back. Many Oswego customers make a second trip after a move or a closet clean-out turns up more.
If you want a feel for the numbers first, our guide to how much your gold is worth shows how weight and karat turn into an offer.
Other things Oswego brings in
- Chains and bracelets that broke and were never repaired, since a repair often costs more than people expect
- Class rings from Oswego High and Oswego East that haven't been worn since graduation
- Gold coins received as gifts, and small bars bought years ago
- Pendants, crosses and medallions that have been replaced by newer ones
Each item is tested at the counter while you watch. If something turns out to be plated rather than solid, we'll show you how we can tell, and there's no charge for finding out. To check stamps yourself ahead of time, see how to tell if gold is real.

Why so many of our neighbors come here
Oswego has grown fast, and there are plenty of places along Route 34 that advertise buying gold alongside everything else they do. Buying gold is all we do. We test and weigh every piece in the open, sort the gold by karat, and put a price on each karat so your offer is never a single mystery number. For a side-by-side look at the different places that buy gold, see where to sell gold.
A whole collection from Oswego
If you're handling a parent's belongings or clearing out years of accumulated jewelry, bring everything at once and we'll sort it together at the counter. Costume pieces mixed in are expected and not a problem. For a larger collection, a call to (630) 593-3510 lets us set aside private time for you. Our inherited gold guide covers what families usually want to know first.

Oswego FAQ
Where can I sell gold near Oswego?
At We Buy Gold, 1335 Douglas Ave, Ste G in Montgomery, about 10 minutes up Douglas Rd from most of the village.
Do I need to call before I come?
No. We see walk-ins all day, every day we're open. Calling ahead only matters if you want a private appointment for a large collection.
I only have a few small pieces. Is that worth the trip?
Usually, yes. Small pieces of the same karat are weighed together, so a handful of odds and ends often adds up to more than people expect, and you're only ten minutes away.
Do you buy jewelry that still has stones in it?
We buy the gold. If a piece holds a stone you care about, mention it first and we'll go over the options before anything is done.
Is it faster to come on a weekday?
Weekday afternoons are usually the quietest. Saturdays and Sundays are busier, but the testing itself only takes a few minutes per piece.
Do you buy class rings?
Yes, as long as they're real gold. Many school rings are 10K, and we buy 10K.
Nearby towns we serve
Neighbors from Montgomery, Boulder Hill, Yorkville, Aurora and Plainfield make the same short trip. Each has its own directions page.
